Theodore Waddell: I painted the cover for Paul Zarzyski’s new collection of poems: Wolf Tracks on the Welcome Mat, published by OreanaBooks. Tucker Press has published 8 broadsides of Paul’s poems: Manners, Tender, Garnet Moon, The Meaning of Intimacy, Love the Color of Trout, Wings, Grace, and Playing Favorites. My woodcuts were used to illustrate the poems. We anticipate completing 10-12 poems and woodcuts when the project is complete.

The type is set by Owosso Graphics in Michigan. The woodcuts are produced by developing a wood block for each color which is printed. The blocks are Shina Plywood, made in Japan. These woodcuts are printed on Arches Cover white and creme paper in editions of 100 and 150. Sometimes the woodcut is printed first with the poem printed on top of the woodcut image.
